Overview

This model year sees umpteen changes in just about every parameter. The 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible has unique styling; Yes Essentials� stain-resistant, odor-resistant, and anti-static seat fabric; 10-inches more rear legroom than its competitors; standard power convertible cloth soft top; added storage space; and an available turbo engine option that makes for an incredibly noiseless ride.

Powertrain and performance

The 2.4-liter, DOHC engine has 16 valves and four cylinders, and produces decent power of 180 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque. It has a front-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transaxle. It also has a power convertible cloth top.

Styling

The interior now has unique Fold and Tumble� rear seats, which can be configured in no fewer than nine different ways. The configured music system is standard. The instrument panel has a satin-silver finish. The exterior has the Chrysler logo in the front, well-rounded headlamps and fog lights, and a choice of six new exterior colors.

Advanced multistage driver and front passenger air bags, supplemental seat-mounted side airbags, tire-pressure monitoring system, anti-lock brakes with traction control, Latch, and a security alarm system are just some of the many standard safety features.
